Továrna Barrandov

This publication tries - as the first of its kind - to map in detail the history of the Barrandov studios in the era when the power was held by the communist party. It deals not only with exceptional actors and directors but also with the questions how the work process was organized, how the internal social life was going, what the unwritten rules were and which conflicts with the political power took place. Based on the everyday experiences of the involved filmmakers the book tries to answer frequently asked questions concerning the regime interventions into the function of the studios and into the creative process itself.
