Vadí - nevadí

This book – using Barrandov Studios as an example – describes system of censorship negotiations which preceded a granting of necessary permissions. Particular historical scope covers the era between 1962 and 1970 in Czechoslovakia. The principles of censorship and relations between all involved parties (film industry representatives, censorship institutions representatives) are reconstructed on the basis of an extensive research. Author sees the censorship as a process of communication – negotiation within a complex system of workers and authorities taking part in this process – and he is able to question established ideas about "bad censors" and "oppressed artists" thanks to this view.
